Ready for the last days?
We went to Asakusa and in the evening were lucky enough to see a test/promo for the Asakusa Culture & Lights show
We also walked to the Skytree (and headed up), visited the Christmas Market there and really enjoyed the sunshine

There was also a My Hero Academia Pop-Up Store, Event place and café... which we all had to explore, of course! 😂

The next days we explored Shibuya for a bit more (gosh, I really like it there!) and then headed back to Ikebukuro to visit the Summer Hikaru Died exhibition, check out the observatory and buy some things in the Assist Cosplay store.

As our train to Tokyo was going in the afternoon, we spent some time at Nijo Castle. We also got a ticket for the Ninomaru-goten Palace and that one was REALLY interesting. You weren't allowed to take any photos though.
On our way back to Tokyo, Fuji was just perfectly in view then!

As our train to Tokyo was going in the afternoon, we spent some time at Nijo Castle. We also got a ticket for the Ninomaru-goten Palace and that one was REALLY interesting. You weren't allowed to take any photos though.
On our way back to Tokyo, Fuji was just perfectly in view then!

For the rest of the day, we explored Kyoto, and I'm actually really glad that it rained later. All the tourists fled then 😂

The last full day in Kyoto started with a long bus ride, disappointment (we wanted to head to Rurikōin Temple, but we didn't check if we needed ticket in advance... so, yeah, next time we'll do better!), and then a ride up Mt. Hiei with stunning views!

Yes, we also explored Nara for a bit! Lots of deer, a small temple and Kasuga-Taisha before we headed back to Kyoto as it began to rain a lot that afternoon.

We then took the bus and walked up to Kiyomizu-dera, which was really crowded. Especially near the 'light up' time around 5:30pm. But the view was still amazing and the entire temple beautiful.

The next day we went to the new TeamLabs in Kyoto and wow! That was amazing!

Afterwards we did go to Fushimi Inari, which was as crowded as expected. It got better higher up, but we didn't go all the way, as the weather turned quite nasty up there. On our way down, I spotted a couple and took some photos of them and I am so glad they liked them!

Then it was time for our first Shinkansen experience and wooooh, that was so nice! (Look at that legroom!)We also spotted Mount Fuji and then... I slept for the rest of the ride 😂

We checked out Nakano Broadway and the markets down there reminded me of Thailand a bit😂 It was also kind of strange to see luxury brands next to nerdy chaotic stores

East Gardens of the Higashi-Gyoen. Lovely garden and it's amazing to listen to the tours passing you as there's so much history

Tokyo Dome was cool as well! Of course we rode the big wheel and had the best crêpe ever (and Mel headed to the Wrestling Shop) and I just had to see that Bakugo statue!

Back to Tokyo, we explored Shibuya a bit more and headed up Shibuya Sky as we were lucky enough to get tickets! Overall, I really loved to walk around in Shibuya and I spotted so many places from the Neo: The World Ends With You game 😁

We will definitely return to Nikko, as there is still so much we didn't have the time to explore!

We returned to Nikko the next day and did some sightseeing. Among it the Tomb of Tokugawa Iemitsu (and a bit above is the Mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu), Nikkō Tōshōgū (who was the least favourite due to the number of tourists) and quite some others!
It took a bit to reach the hotel, but aaaah... we SO loved the room that we even though about staying for another night 😂

And then it was finally time to head to Nikko! We took the Spacia Express from Shinjuku and stored our luggage to explore this amazing bridge (and the town for a bit) before we drove on to our hotel.

One day, we also explored Akihabara, but I have to admit that I preferred the other areas of Tokyo somehow

We headed to Roppongi in the evening and... uuuuh boy, the Illumination here is beautiful, yes, but the people are something else. Crowds, being rushed onto the streets for photos and rushed off not even 20 seconds later was something I didn't expect to see 😂

Of course Tokyo Tower was on our list as well (including the photospot a bit further I read about) - and it was just soooo warm again that day. Good that I did indeed pack my T-Shirt! We easily managed to get tickets right there for the day for ¥3500
