How do #alpine plants respond to #climatechange? Researchers from the #SLF are using warming chambers to investigate the long-term effects of rising temperatures. This is part of #ITEX, a global network for researching tundra and alpine vegetation.

Hi! Basically, the cases mentioned are errors on our part, which were caused by the automatic correction of the HS parameter. We are currently working on finding these cases where the automatic correction has problems and correcting them. Maybe you will find more errors if you compare the data.

Last Saturday, around 250 people gained an in-depth insight into afforestation and other #research work at #Stillberg in #Davos, where the #SLF and @wslresearch.bsky.social planted 92'000 trees 50 years ago.
More impressions can be found in the news article: www.slf.ch/en/news/ruec...

Data from 50 years of research at the #Stillberg afforestation site in #Davos shows that trees should be at least twice as high as the #snowpack to prevent avalanches. In addition, evergreen conifers hold back more #snow.

#Climatechange is causing #marmots to move, but not far: this is the conclusion of a recent study by #SLF biologist @annekempel.bsky.social. She investigated the altitude at which most marmots currently live and compared her findings with data from 1982.
More information: www.slf.ch/en/news/clim...
Climate change has minor impact on marmots for now
Marmots now live at higher altitudes than they did 40 years ago, but climate change has not led to a major habitat shift.
