I didn't plan to call in because I have my own work to get done so as to not bury myself in the near future as I have the option of help for my family tomorrow. Now, I want to call in but can't because I'll lose that money I desperately need.

Absolutely insane how detached some people are.

This manager makes 6-figures with huge yearly bonuses and quarterly raises while I risked losing my 8 hours holiday pay for Xmas Day by leaving early the day prior. If I call in tomorrow, I definitely lose those 8 hours of pay.

I spent all of Xmas doing laundry, washing dishes, cleaning up the house, and tending to my sick family. I'm likely have to cancel all weekend Xmas plans as well.-

I left early Christmas Eve because my family was so sick that I nearly had to spend the night in emergency for one of my kids. With the exception of Xmas morning presents, both days' plans were fully cancelled with my wife going back to bed for half the day due to being so ill-

I honestly feel like each iteration has been at least a little bit worse. I understand the changing dynamics of the consoles' functionality, etc, but like you said, it was so clean and was easy to navigate.
