Christmas #1024Challenge Final Submission:

I had so much fun working on my character for @crashsune.bsky.social's Christmas Contest.

My submission was a low poly model of my original character, Kaos. She came out to be 1,017 tris with two 1024x1024 texture sheets!

And here are the two animations! I've been experimenting with animating with physics using the Wiggle 2 add-on in #blender as well as animating in 2s. I think it helps add a retro feel to my #lowpoly character. 👾

Didn't post yesterday because most of the work was on the back end and I didn't have any good visuals to present, but today I have a lot! An idle animation, a sprint animation, and an expressions texture sheet. Love the variety of eyes I was able to make!😊

Finished texturing my character. I really love the embroidered flames I added, it really helps break up all of the greys and blacks on the outfit and makes her design pop a bit more. Made a quick rig and plan on improving it tomorrow! 😊

All thats left for texturing is the fire embroidery on the pants, then I can move on to rigging my character! I finally textured the boots and I knew there was a reason I kept putting it off... its because they are the most detailed part! 😂

Great progress today!! :D Finished my UVs, added eye and mouth planes, and got 70% of my texturing done. Got her to 1002 tris. 😎 Pretty happy about that!

(Still have yet to design her boots... I'll get to it eventually... 😖)

False alarm, after struggling to organize my UVs I decided to concept out my character to have a better path forward. I just drew over the wireframe in #krita. I got about 80% of the concept done, just ignore those stumpy boots for now. 😆

Trying to improve my presentation skills along with getting faster at character modeling. I learned new tricks with compositing and world shaders to get this cute comic-y look to the background.
