It’s always a question as to whether the likes of Tomi are too dumb to recognize that more people have been and are being attacked by ICE than undocumented immigrants, or if the MAGA Cult is already ok with anyone not MAGA, even citizens, being a victim of federal persecution.

The laws exist to stop him now. We do need Congress to do their jobs though. Their refusal to hold him accountable and force him to follow the law or be removed is as much the problem as his lawless behavior. The majority who’ve abdicated their authority is the Republican legislators.

What does Mike Johnson follow or do? From his press conferences, he seems to spend the majority of his time ensuring the Epstein files are not released and otherwise making sure he knows as little as possible about what the administration is doing. He is really hoping ignorance can be an excuse.

The lack of a functional legislative branch, one that operates as a check to the executive branch, is what prevents this. The Senate and House majorities have sold their souls to Donald Trump, Project 2025, and Stephen Miller. It is disgusting, infuriating, and depressing.

I think the conversation I had Sunday about personal fouls in a football game is relevant to ICE’s behavior. It’s often the 2nd person’s violence that gets noticed and flagged. The instigator benefits. I think the administration is looking to benefit similarly.

The Kent State shootings, while reprehensible, were somewhat singular in their occurrence from what I remember, but maybe I was too young. There were tons of protests then, but not a lot of sending armed military to police them. The lawlessness of the current administration seems worse.
