Yes, I fully subscribe to your theory. It absolutely fits with the story beats AND fits with Malone/Griffith always going back to characters they used during prior runs.

#OLTL Dec 00. The show's inability to acknowledge 97/98 is kind of an issue when it comes to giving Blair any kind of POV. She can't delve into the issues surrounding her coma-divorce with Todd OR the fact that Max first slept with her for the money in the wine cellar. Everything becomes her fault.

#OLTL 93. Ellen Bethea and Nathan Purdee are pretty damn amazing as Hank questions Rachel on the stand. There is SO much depth to this father/daughter relationship that the show eventually completely pissed away when they shifted the Black characters to the extreme backburner.

I mean, listen, there was stuff that I'm sure a lot of writers wanted to blow by in this and especially the Malone 2.0 era, but this (and the tumour) is an actual solid reason for giving Blair an actual POV.

#OLTL Dec 00. Todd wanting Melanie to remove his scar is stupid and impetuous in a manic way that I don't like about this era BUT I really wanted Blair to reference this in 2011 when Todd questioned why she finally accepted VicTodd. Todd spent a lot of time not wanting to be himself FOR Blair.

#OLTL Dec 00. The Kevin/Kelly story feels so strange. They've got two external conflicts (Joey stalling the divorce and some weirdo from The Banner stalking them) and neither are working. I can see why they just basically eased off the show in 2001. 🤔
