Same for MRT and Buses. We tap when boarding and tap when alighting. So that the system can calculate the distance travelled and we are charged accordingly.

100% of Singapore debt is domestic, and our assets far supercedes our debt. This debt is not required for our spending, so technically, I am not too worried. :D

Finally back on Bluesky!

No worries! No offense taken, but thanks for the reply. I am also afraid to use too much AI generated stuff on true topics. :D

WTF flag is that? Please tweak your AI generation to at least generate a correct Singapore flag.

But definitely not Singapore.

I cannot speak about expats, but as a local, life in Singapore is so much more. Family, friends, working hard, and travelling. Singaporeans love to travel, are ambitious, and worldly knowledgeable.
So much more than shallow living.

As a Singaporean, I would say our governing climate is more on 'soft authoritarian'. This works as our government actually cares for our welfare (at least for the majority). And for the minority (non conforming lifestyles), life might be slightly tougher, but NOT terrible.

What do you mean? Can you please be more specific, with proof that you will be vaned in Singapore for offering an opinion?

Singapore's first language is English. =)

The British, Austrialians and the locals fought bravely for a week before surrendering, with losses on both sides.
The Japs did NOT take us down so easily. We have a few war heroes during this time.

Singapore's model is inclusiveness, helping people from all society levels. Progressive taxing, where the rich are taxed more. Our healthcare is one of the best in the world, and does not bankrupt anyone who makes proper planning. We are not perfect, but our government cares for the majority.

'Famously, banned chewing gum'. Ok, sure.. but what we banned was the selling of chewing gum. Nothing will happen if you are chewing gum..
Don't forget, Kinder Surprise Eggs are banned in the United States.. But we have them in Singapore.
Please don't throw stones while living in a glass house.

Marriages and family planning are not intervened. We are free to make our own decisions. Although governmental policies do encourage marriage and families (due to Confucian concepts), we do not live in fear if we do not follow the societal norms.

As a Singaporean, this statement is not fully wrong, nor is it fully right.
We Singaporeans are free to express a lot, but what are controlled, is speech on religion and race. Religious and racial harmony is our tenant to maintain a peaceful and harmonious society .
