How does it feel when all of it stops? When you're sitting idly by watching as your world falls around you. That life, that time, that version of you. All gone in a millisecond. And you feel helpless. When the weight of life feels like trudging through three feet of frozen snow. Pulling a sled wearing four layers of clothes, sweating and freezing simultaneously. And you feel determined. When you feel as though you are viewing YOUR life just the same as when you were sitting on the living room carpet, at lunchtime, on a rainy summer day. On the family TV were your mom's daily soaps. And you feel confused. So how? How is this your life? How do you get through this day? This hour...minute? When it's moving so fast and terribly slow, all at the same time. Why would you climb All. The. Way. To the top of that steep, snow covered hill? Pulling that sled? For the experience after. To feel the joy, the fun and excitement. For your inner child, and your future self. How does it feel? When it all fell apart and all you could do was live it; to end up sledding down that hill?

Sometimes your life feels like turmoil and your heart feels as dark as the dirt on the forrest floor. Sometimes your life feels unsatisfying even though it's eternally beautiful and painful, and growing, and peaceful, and messy as hell all at the same time. Sometimes your world feels heavy. The weight feels as strong as the force of wind that mother nature uses to push over the tallest pines. The magnificent pines whose roots once slithered through the same dark soil of the forrest floor. The same darkness where your heart can reach. And that cycle is wonderfully tragic. Sometimes you feel as if your hope is missing. Just as the trees disappear from the foliage skyline. And that's the wonder of it all. When the pines slam into the earth, they are welcome, and evolve into another meaningful cycle of life. And eventually, another tree will grow in its place.
