If you're not familiar, 287(g) agreements are formal working agreements between ICE and local law enforcement. I am sure Rep. Fani-Gonzalez is going to give another barnburner of a speech and I hope the state delegates are listening.

Then Rep. Fani-Gonzalez asked for our support while she repeated her entire speech in Spanish so that all the family members who didn't speak English could be included.

It was truly, truly incredible. This was May of 2025. So not even a year ago.

Rep. Fani-Gonzalez talked in her speech about arriving here in the US as an undocumented immigrant, and how she never expected to be a county councilperson. She also talked about her mom, how she always showed up for everything Fani-Gonzalez did in school, even though she didn't understand English.
