Yeah, it was our second year for the event and we pulled in participants from two other Michigan bonsai clubs. There was a small formal bonsai show indoors and tents outside where we had members styling trees, helping guests to style small portulacarias, and answering questions.

One of my favorite species to work on! I probably could have finished it if I had worked for another couple hours, but I find that they self thin a little bit when you work them in the summer, so I'll give that a chance to happen before I intervene.

Yes, the trouble is that the back tree completely fills the space between the front two. Next year, I'm going to put it in a wider, shallower pot and spread them out a little farther.

I can't imagine tattooing slowly enough that that would take 6 hours... 2 TOPS! The artist was milking the clock.
