there are a few more lenders who also own part of the U.S. debt. when they come to collect, they won't care about the U.S. military. but should it become an issue, china has 2.1 million active duty soldiers, nearly twice as many as the U.S. when the money is cut off, the U.S. will be on its knees

nope. it's all about money. whoever owns the loans, owns the borrowers. if you don't pay your mortgage the bank repossesses your house and kicks you to the curb. in this case europe is the bank and the U.S. the borrower. the U.S. military is not going to war if they are not funded.
