Yr 6 investigated how changing the voltage in an electrical circuit affects the loudness of a buzzer by using different numbers of batteries. They worked collaboratively to set up fair tests, make careful observations, and discuss their results. The class showed great teamwork.

The choir visited Brook House Nursing Home to perform Christmas carols for residents, including those living with dementia.
The choir went Morrison to sing Christmas carols. They sang beautifully, well done choir singers, you have made us very proud of you.

We welcomed Townley Grammar School for an interactive workshop on the circulatory system. Sixth Form students supported the activities and helped explain how the heart and blood vessels work. The visit offered an engaging and memorable learning experience for Year 6

In Yr 3, we are developing our reasoning and maths talk skills. We worked in groups to solve a range of maths problems, explaining our thinking and the mathematical operations we chose. We listened to each other’s ideas, tested different strategies, and discussed our reasoning before answering.

Year 3 have been learning about muscles and skeletons and how these make movement possible. To observe how the muscles of the hands help them to move, we made our own models of a hand and we used sticky takes, straws and strings to make muscles and skeleton.

Y6 enjoyed an exciting trip to Charlton Athletic Football Club, where they explored the players’ changing rooms and experienced being pitch-side at The Valley. Pupils also learned about the club’s rich history, discovering key moments and famous figures that shaped Charlton Athletic.

Year 1 have been learning about Baptism this week in RE. The children have been looking at the special ceremony and understanding the different roles. We acted out a baptism and discussed the importance of being baptised.

Our School Council had a wonderful time planting new trees and shrubs in the Prayer Garden. These plants were kindly donated by The Woodland Trust, and our amazing volunteer Hazel was on hand to guide and help with the gardening.

Year 5 attended Mass on Friday 10th to celebrate Jesus and to give thanks for all the good things God has given us as a school community.

Reception have been learning all about The Month of the Rosary and how to use one as well as practising important prayers such as the Hail Mary. We have even written our own prayer in RE! 🙏 We have also been practising using our newly learned phonics and creating patterns with colourful pasta.
