Why didn't they just reprint (& credit) the original? I'm sure it was done as work for hire.

It was the best comic! (& that's from someone who didn't even watch the show) Its mix of indy ( @kochalka.bsky.social ) & mainstream ( @jerryordway.bsky.social ), old (Ramona Fradon) & new-to-me (it's where I discovered your work IIRC) was second to none! So much talent, so much joy in its pages!

Colorist @matlopes.bsky.social has been an unsung (at least by me -- sorry!) hero in all this, too. After recently seeing someone else color Chris's art, I realize how much Matheus did to make it shine in this series!

"Compare to hand lettered comics of yesteryear" is great advice! That helped me tighten up my leading, which was a huge improvement.

Thanks for sharing this link! I can't quite picture a Kirby-edited book he wouldn't also write/draw... but would've loved to have seen what he'd have done with the title. Especially who he'd choose to work on it...

Batman Family is still a favorite of mine, and tho Newton didn't draw Batgirl often, it was a treat whenever he did!
