Neurospicy engineer, maker, materials nerd, Pythonista, LLM-whisperer. Into languages, music, cooking, picking up heavy things. AuDHD. Narungga Country, South Australia.
If you start seeing random characters, that's not part of it. That's Felicia and Freda, who adopted me back in February (they just turned up, as tiny kittens) who I don't think like my abuser any more than I do, so like to hang with me, sometimes on my keyboard.

Seriously, they are not a danger. People deploying them without understanding - are. They don't think. They are probabalistic systems. This means that they can't work deteminalistically.

2+2=would you like me to describe a camel?

I guess the thing it's really taught me, is that the under forties should not be allowed to do computer-touching, unless supervised by a responsible adult. (I used to say under 50, but have to consider my beloved.)

Haha, no, I got THEM. These kids ain't got nothing on a 58yo engineer who risk-assesses by basic nature, and can smell bullshit at five thousand yards. I am totally in my element.

And my girlfriend has what I have, PLUS a literal lifetime of abuse, and cPTSD. And I started building this with her in mind, and - it's a total game changer.

Jim, I started off, not knowing how it works, but seeing exactly how it's broken, and have been building work-arounds, ever since AND THEY ARE WORKING. The core project has been building a cognitive prosthesis, a tool that lets me THRIVE, despite the AuDHD.

Right now, I am building portfolio. 1st of Jan - I need a job, in a whole, new sector.
December 22, 2025 at 11:08 AM
But, seriously, it blev me off my feet. 8 days after first contact, I was starting to draft a book on prompt engineering, for non-IT people. It is so compatible with my personal AuDHD, that it has doubled the number of hours I can work a day.

Thank you! I am trying to be here, when everything is - trying.

Or screen. I might be able to make a model, but when it comes down to 2D construction, and especially using software that relies on icons - I'm stuffed.

Was stuffed. Because I looked at the whole system, and found the accessibility weakness.

(I will continue, later.)

But, combining the two things, I had to surmount a large obstacle. My specific neurodivergence makes all GUI software a challenge to use, and when it comes to drawing programmes and CAD - close to impossible.

I can visualise highly complex things, just fine. But I can't get that onto paper.

Also, as it involves ML & NLP, but not an LLM (unless it is answering complex questions) they'd probably dispute "AI", as well.
December 13, 2025 at 12:19 AM
...so others might question "wearable.")
December 13, 2025 at 12:16 AM
Vapourware reviews is a new one on me.

(Related to the content, I am actually working on pendant, as part of my "cognitive prosthesis" but, since it contains a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, just for starters, and is built mostly from commodity modules, it's going to be the size of a late 90's Nokia...

I brought mine in earlier. That I put out two days ago. I'll blame the ADHD. (It probably is the ADHD.)
April 24, 2025 at 11:42 AM
...untreated ADHD being up there. And autism but, shh, that's supposed to be a surprise. (The psychometrics all say a resounding YES, but I need an official diagnosis for - reasons.)
April 24, 2025 at 11:39 AM
Much has happened in the last year, some of it wonderful, some of it - very painful. And that pain will continue, until I am able to effect some significant changes in my life.

Primarily, extricating myself from a toxic, and abusive relationship. Something I was blind to, for various reasons...
