Ancient historian, temple attendant for three dainty-pawed gods who sometimes make their epiphanies. Looking for more honesty and less malice in politics, but getting this thing instead.
Low heat typically used to be bc one of the elements stops working...but thermostats are increasingly low quality to goose sales of new stoves so it could literally be a range of things gone wrong.

As a citizen of San Marino I am extremely vexed that citizens of the Italian Republic have the audacity to call themselves Italians. What are we then, chopped prosciutto?

Who's responsible for taking down from the internet AI slop recipes that are poisonous? My guess is, nobody. Certainly not the tech bros who created AI slop that encourages ppl to commit suicide.

All of this was reported to me by astonished neighbors, who were especially surprised bc everyone knew the shepherd was never remotely friendly toward my dog.

I don't find it hard to believe that animals will try to protect the defenseless bodies of other animals from further harm.

The Kennedy name makes some few ppl ignore any & all red flags. JFK jr's late wife once said she was thrilled & charmed when he happened to cross her path and became instantly obsessed w/ her. Do red flags get any bigger than that? He had a type, duh. Instant obsessives are usually pretty creepy IME

Hegseth reminds me of the posturing fool of a captain played by Clooney in Thin Red Line, telling Guadalcanal vets he's going to be the daddy. You spend two hours wondering whether Nolte's loose cannon Colonel is going to get fragged; then at the v end Clooney's speech makes a case for the popinjay.

My former boss in Rome once remarked that fascism in Italy succeeded mainly bc ppl liked wearing the fancy clothes.

'Being criticised by both sides means I'm right' is one of the dumbest memes of our times.

There truly are ppl who refuse to lick ice cream cones bc it seems gay?

Makes me wonder how many other odd behaviors are tied to fools who fall for peer pressure or manosphere bloviating.

Not using turn signals while driving?

Reshelving library books spine up?

Shooting the ball off target?

Few states lack a history of far right extremism. Her family lived right on the MA border & Leavitt went to a Catholic school in MA. It would make at least as much sense to blame her extremism on Catholicism as it does to blame it on the state of NH...which isn't especially keen on violent nativism.

How does that track?

huh, I'd say this is a bad list, almost exclusively of American films, arranged in random order. Tootsie? Better than Dr. Strangelove?!

Weird how a section got deleted in that comment: "time-stamped Google Docs so I could go back..."

A few years ago I started having students write & edit group assignments on the time-stamped go back and assess who was doing the work in good faith and whether any students were coasting or cut'n'pasting material they hadn't written. It's a lot of extra work though.

Turned his Civil War series off in disgust after a few minutes when it first aired, and have remained puzzled ever since about what ppl see in that stuff. History Channel adicts, sure...but still.
