She must be feeling unappreciated because she is on a roll today... The thing I am most surprised at about concerning this post is that she was actually AT a public library.

And Plyer v Doe is applies to K-12 only, not PK.

He didn't succeed (Lincoln, Kennedy), and Jodi Foster or another celebrity (Reagan) was not invoked.

"Oh.... so those "sh****le" countries have rare earth metals, you say? And China has relatively good relationships with them?

Maybe I should have listened to or read those briefing papers during my first administration..... "

She received nods from the dems when she served on the NSC under Biden.
July 9, 2025 at 2:27 AM
She served on the NSC under Biden.... so she didn't just switch parties.
July 9, 2025 at 2:26 AM
This is the perfect candidate to run for this seat. She will do amazing things once she is elected.
July 9, 2025 at 2:21 AM
At least he is not trying to stage it at The Kennedy Center.... yet.

Superman was political from the get-go. His creator was the son of Lithuanian Jewish immigrants- and immigration was a theme from the start. Further, the character took on corrupt businessmen and politicians during the Depression. Later her combatted anti-Semitism and discrimination against vets.

The KC 25-26 theatre season includes Moulin Rouge, Spamalot, and Mrs. Doubtfire- Didn't Trump say 1 of the reasons for stepping in @ KC was to stop marketing drag to families?

He couldn't care less about the arts. This is about ego. You should see what he did to the KC Presidential Boxes.
July 7, 2025 at 2:06 AM
Wait until Dec when Grenell is planning a "celebration of Jesus's birth". (Ugh.)

Though it shouldn't have happened, all those cancelled performed at other local venues &Seth Rudetsky rented space at KC and held a protest performance in response.

Many will simply skip KC over the next few years.
July 7, 2025 at 1:54 AM
Donations that aren't made can't go anywhere. In protest of his administration, long-time KC donors who have given $ every year have been very vocal about taking their money to other arts organizations in DC.
July 7, 2025 at 1:45 AM
But The Kennedy Center will survive this. The arts in the US will survive this. Keep voicing concerns. Keep supporting the arts wherever you are. And if you are so inclined, keep creating and sharing art.
July 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
His involvement (like many of his activities) is to break what was wasn't broken, create a half-assed "fix", and then take credit. There will be bad programming decisions (just wait until Dec.) There will be poor choices for KC Honors. There will be more protests- like Seth Rudetsky's last week.
July 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
He HAS lost the KC subscriptions- which are down 36%- as well as philanthropic donations and foot traffic (which loses gift shop and restaurant revenue). And the federal govt does't really fund The KC. With the exception of maintenance funds (about 15% of total funding) the KC is self-funding.
July 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
His direct interest is for optics only. (And maybe union busting)

The real effects of his ego trip (of which he is blind) are that he HAS alienated artists and the arts community. He HAS caused artists to change venues to The National, The Warner and others. He HAS lost he KC arts partnerships.
July 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
He redecorated the Presidential Boxes at the main-stage theaters. He put portraits of himself, Melania, J.D., & Usha at one of the entrances. He attended his 1st KC show. He attended a board meeting where he trashed The KC saying it was in decay, though he only toured the tunnels under the stages.
July 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
This isn't about a fascist take-over of the arts; it is about his ego. The 25-26 Kennedy Center theatre season would not include Spamalot, Moulin Rouge, and Chicago if it were a national cleansing of the arts.

What havoc has he unleashed since installing Richard Grenell as pres The KC?
July 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
Then they are doing a poor job. Kennedy Center subscriptions are down 36% from this time last year.
July 7, 2025 at 12:43 AM
Not really. The 2025-2026 theatre season includes Moulin Rouge, Spamalot, and Chicago. None really bring Biblical thoughts to the fore.
July 7, 2025 at 12:42 AM
He already redecorated the Presidential Boxes in each of the main stage theatres. Yes, there is a lot of gilt ornamentation.
July 7, 2025 at 12:39 AM
The Kennedy Center is non-profit. Also, since subscriptions are down about 36% right now and donations are at a trickle. If it were about money, the new administration is doing a poor job.

This whole thing is about ego.
July 7, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Funny thing, the new theatre season at The Kennedy Center- ushered in by Trump acolyte Richard Grenell, includes Mrs. Doubtfire, and Moulin Rouge. Both are heave on the use of drag.
