2025 is a good year to start appreciating the art we have now (and disconnecting it from a reliance on corporate servers. its good to have local backups!) because its been made very clear that one cannot guarantee it will remain accessible in the future

it has its downsides, our music library started out small at first and its definitely cost more than paying for a subscription but its steadily grown through the year and were happy paying a little bit more for flacs we can do whatever we want with forever ever ever ever. thats pretty cool

we made the switch in 2025 to stop streaming music and start buying albums monthly instead and its been interesting. Beyond being far better for supporting the artists we like it also feels like we value the music we listen to more, when we don't have Every Song Ever available at a moments notice.

we genuinely think if we approached game development kind of like we did with the lbp levels we made we could actually make and finish something, theres some part of our brain thats capable of it it just needs to be channeled the right way

weve wanted to for so long but struggled with motivation and making lbp levels WAS a way to use our game dev energy we had. but were starting to seriously rub up against the limits of that games level editor with our ideas in a way thats naturally pushing us towards like "its time to learn godot"
