Where’s this demented moron of a president suddenly getting money from? His imaginary tariff shelf? He touted $5k checks to us after DOGE dismantled our government agencies, he’s going to send us $2k stimulus checks, he’s going to bail out the farmers with billions etc and now $10k bonuses? All BS!!

Yes! Unfortunately he’s not up for reelection until 2028 and if he doesn’t retire, he should be primaried. If the Democrats can take back the senate next year they need to vote for a new leader for sure.

Millions around the country are flying their flags upside down in protest. They get it. I understand that you don’t get it and that’s fine. To each his own. Have a nice day.

Exactly! I’m mad too. We must continue to remind everyone that it was the GOP using food as a weapon against starving people in order to get their way.

Yes, state elected officials can be recalled. I think it’s about 19 states that allow it. The process can vary by state. Most involve collecting a certain number of signatures on a petition. If requirements are met a recall vote is held. CA tried to recall Newsom twice and lost. VA requires a trial

The historical meaning of flying a flag upside down is a signal of dire distress (which we are currently in). It is a form of political protest to signal that the country is in distress due to policies, social issues or other systemic problems.

7 Dems and 1 Independent. Now is not the time to feel defeated. Let’s get behind the rest who are standing their ground. There’s too much work ahead and we can’t throw our hands up in the air and give up.

Members of Congress cannot be recalled by their constituents. It’s in the constitution. Any expulsion of members of Congress requires a two thirds vote. I don’t remember that ever happening. Maybe you’re thinking of censure? But that’s not permanent removal.

I felt the same way last night. Let’s try to look at it in a different way. There are 45 Dems and 2 Independents. We need to focus on the 39 who voted NO and the fact that it’s the GOP who was happy to let Americans starve at any cost. Don’t let this put out the fire. Dig in and keep fighting.

And I’m going to say it again that we’re stuck with them until they’re up for reelection in ‘27, ‘28 and ‘30 unless one or all resign. I don’t understand what you’re trying to pick an argument about.

Unfortunately not soon enough.

Shaheen and Durbin are retiring but the others are not going to be up for reelection in ‘27, ‘28 and ‘30. Plenty of time to get other candidates to replace these idiots.

I don’t know why some haven’t learned that by now.

Their constituents can express their disapproval of their senators. Maybe with enough pressure they would but they don’t have to until their six year term is over.

No. A senator is elected to serve a six year term. There could be a special election if he/she passes away during their term or resigns. There are no state level recall provisions for a senator. It is unconstitutional.
