The Liberal Government was incompetent and corrupt. Of course they didn’t implement the recommendation. We had to wait for a Labor Government to do the hard work for community (as per usual).

There were cops present, watching & listening to the nazis as they broke laws around hate speech & inciting hate. Were they instructed not to intervene .... with bats, pepper spray & arrests .... like they do with climate change or anti genocide protesters??

I recall it being not stranger danger per se; but don’t talk to strange men; never get into a car with a stranger. So yes, the scare mongering was also present in the 70s for good reason. Many kidnappings, murders and missing kids
