Ironic Hyundai evangelist, lover of books, laugher at life.

I follow the Portland Timbers and #MLS, generally, just not in long form. #rctid

Pretty excited for the end of 2025, honestly. Not our best year, globally.
Short version: gotta win back power and send those two commanding officer trolls to a *long* fucking unemployment line filled with their colleagues and personnel.

Talking about the conditions in ICE facilities in “what are they hiding?” terms seems like a good thing for Dems to bring up.

They play, I watch. I base my expectations on what they’ve done previously. I’m happy when the win, occasionally happy with a draw. I mostly want to be entertained. I don’t always get what I want. The end.

that freakin’ guy. my god, my dude.

Them again, that trend (if it continued/held) further separates the communities.

Largely rural counties already hate/fear blue counties (b/c cities), so increasing the immigrant population makes it a double whammy.

A combination of what happened and what’s implicitly encouraged, I suppose.

In his notes on how voters are moving to like-minded communities nationwide, Woodard flagged a sub-current:

“Immigrants…avoided the deep red counties, with only 5 percent living in them in 2004,
compared with 21 percent in deep blue counties.”

Can’t blame ‘em, can’t imagine it’s improved.

"They issue outlandish statements and parade their clownish idiots on TV, but what I find much more insidious and insulting is the demand on the part of some that we take them seriously or pretend that they are a government like any other."

Why I obsess over lying in politics.

"What we have here is not a system, but the effort to create one. But many people in the US are already living in the lie and are encouraging others to do so. The administration comes up with totally absurd lies; they are obscene and preposterous."

That would be funny, while also deepening the impression of a front office just mashing buttons and hoping for the best.

So, a guy will need to be brought in.

I’d feel better seeing the Timbers get a known quantity from within MLS, but can’t see another team letting go of a good enough replacement.

So…it’s another transition season. Right?

I didn’t mention Da Costa because I still don’t get that guy. #rctid

Fwiw, I caught glimpses of attacking upside from Joao Ortiz, but I don’t think I have a lot of takers for that argument. He’s not Ayala regardless.

The Timbers declined Paredes’ option. Chara can’t play a full season. Omir can provide some cover, but he’s not a No. 6. So….

The #NERevs have had a short-term pattern (since 2009) of three-year cycles of good and bad. I understand that's too short to account for a pattern - and that pattern already wobbled (2022) - *but*, I'm just saying there's a better than non-zero chance that a bad 2026 will set them up through 2030.
