i think also theres the fact that we usually associate aging as a bad thing so if something ages well then that would mean it became worse
but aging isnt inherently good or bad

actually yeah i think was right in the first post i think thats why my brain gets tripped up on it

im thinking about this too hard but also i think about it every time someone says that something did/didnt age well
not sure why it confuses my brain

i think its bc it “didnt age well” contains “didnt age” and it doesnt make sense why adding the word well would completely flip the meaning
but now that i think about it thats actually the case with most “didnt __ well” statements
