I do words. Canadian, so… funny-ish? Victoria, BC. Foodie. Oxford commas. Anti-Nazi. Antifa. Pro-science. Once sold everything to play nomad for 4+ years & 25 countries. Worth it. She/her. Loathe rage-bait. Team FuckYou/MakeMe. Free Palestine. Neurospicy.
There are people competing born after I turned 30 and I am GOING TO HAVE WORDS with someone.

Sometimes, in my job, I'm forced to work on shows with a lead actor who neither looks right for the part nor has recall of basic grammar or vocabulary, and I know something shady as hell happened to get them cast in that role.

yeah, absolutely. they might need a VPN if it says they're not in canada, but the postal codes are good. they can look up any shop or whatever and use a random Canadian postal code.

Look up Patton Oswalt instead. He reposted them, is how I saw it. You can watch it from there.

Sound on, 100%. It's something.

American in Canada here...love CBC Gem in general, and yes agree their Olympics coverage is wonderful. And it's free!

I strongly believe that eulogy was why the Liberal pastry never relented in trying to get him to run for office. Took them years, but they wore him down.

Apparently seeing Santa was when he realized how much power his dad had as Prime Minister. 😆

Yes, those are real postal codes. The one for Santa/North Pole was officially issued by the government when letters to Santa kept coming to Canada.

(A fun story is Justin Trudeau’s eulogy for his dad about the time when he was a boy & his dad took him to Santa’s Workshop on an official mission.)

Strangely, every time I've had the opportunity to watch curling so far these Olympics, it's been women, so I haven't even watched him yet. Even today, it was just the last 5 minutes of the game. Work, work.

Welcome to the world where WHO DOES THE WORK influences the actual outcome.

Could this position be complete shit? Sure! Could it be amazing? ABSOLUTELY.

And it's 1.5% then 2.5% in the next two years that they're tasked to cut. That's not widespread austerity. Come the fuck on.

I, for one, would love it if there was someone in every government's office going "uh, you can do this cheaper by X, Y, Z."

There's too much overlap, too much legacy thinking, and there's a lot of potential for these kinds of overhead policies to be GREAT (as well as bungled/fucked up, obv.)

You're comparing doing surgery with a cleaver versus doing surgery with a scalpel.

Having someone IN the department who UNDERSTANDS the department is different than some shithead named "Big Balls" coming in with a neutron bomb.

A little critical thought is helpful here.
