Ohh this is gonna look great. Will really make the metal veins stand out. I imagine especially in dark caves with lava reflecting off it.

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but I agree.

+1 from me as well. Close to 1-to-1 with the Unreal material graph in terms of UX and features.

I can’t believe The Escapist would do this. Actually, while we’re on the topic let me take a big swig of my beverage and take a look at what they’ve been up to lately.

There’s also this insidious bit where it risks locking you in on a derivative vision immediately. Because you can get it close to a final look from the start instead of having a multitude of artists fill in the gaps with their own ideas and taste. It shortcuts a very important creative process

Holy shit. That’s haunting.

Whoa, plum posting in 2025. Like seeing a bird species that was thought to be extinct. How delightful.

It’s giving Bloodborne 2. Or possibly Kojima’s next thing.

But it will probably turn out to just be whatever Ken Levine has been doing all these years.

How about this: they invented nuclear weapons to make a cover story for what actually happened at the bikini atoll.

This trend makes me so happy. Reminds me of the old Nibiru thread on the ConceptArt forums.

And Remy in Ratatouille.
Both which were pretty funny casting choices when you were familiar with how blue his standup material was.

Yeah you can reduce bones for LODs. Unreal has it built in for their skeletal mesh LOD generator and it works very well. And I did it for Unity back in the day using Simplygon. Not sure if their new LOD generator supports it, but the LOD component should.

Thats… not that far off from what actually happens in that game.

And the extra fun part about this was how I had to contact US support, but since they detected I was calling/connecting from the EU most of their systems would redirect me to the EU website or support hotline. Had to get a VPN just to access my account page.

I ditched Maya when Autodesk charged me 3 times for the same license. I had just moved from the US to EU and during account transfer it charged me once for the US, once for EU, and one more time for good measure I guess. Just completely emptied my bank account. Took 2 months to refund.

Wow it’s really striking how much nuance the spectral method adds to the colors. Especially in the balloons.

This has been my experience too. I feel like I’m being respected and trusted by the machine. It’s honestly making computers fun to use again.
