Do you mean how the tail is going through the circles? I think I stopped animating the circles and instead starting moving the y location of the mesh itself along the curve. If that makes any sense, hope helps ^^

For ref quickly, here is how the new model would look in 2.5D style. No stomach lines but you could add these back via textures.

Anything beyond his body didn't really look good due to no shading and dodgy 3D black outlines. Same if you want to include any other character. They have to look good in this flat style.

I think maybe if you're good with grease pencil you could pull it off but eehhh.

It's gonna be freeeeeee. Once the model is live feel free to do what ever you like to it. Retexture it, animate with it, chop the head off and put it on another model. what ever you like :D

So the plan is: i'd like this to be a full complete Kaa model.

For 90% use cases you can drag his body out of view for him hanging down (or delete the excessive mesh). But on the off chance you'd like him fully in view then you can.

I'm going to make a separate tail object for coiling and such

To curb expectations, this is my first public model ever. So he might be a bit rough around the edges. But hopefully in a good enough place other blender nerds can modify to their liking.

Once this is done, I'll most likely go silent and no life study a bit more.

no worries, I might do a breakdown at some point how to rig with both curves and an armature. Since it was an absolute nightmare to get working together.

If I can barely animate it then they should be able to do something awesome.

He's still missing a lot of controls for his body. I'd like to extend him to 20m or so. Which means lots of additional rigging required, pray for me lol

You'd have to convert the Blender curves to bones for Unity (body / tongue). Maybe mix the shapekeys together / make your own for the visemes.

Semi-related, it would be really cool to one day have vtuber style setup with him.

If it helps. it's all shape keys / blendshapes, no deforming bones at the moment.
