The primary reason, when I’ve asked people in the past, for why they wouldn’t cycle for travel is that they’re scared of cars. So the best way to get people cycling isn’t to focus on our patchwork of cycle lanes, but reverse the power balance: make drivers s*** scared of cyclists. And I know how.
