It's always fascinating to see how different technologies lend themselves to creating different subcultures. I can't imagine people exchanged memes via fax or Telex, but I bet they trolled each other via wireless telegraph.

When factories automated we accepted (?) that the people who worked in them would need fewer skills than the people who hand-crafted goods. Employers who are telling software devs that their skills will be replaced by AI are expecting this to affect their standing in the hiring market how, exactly?
