Just your typical anti-social introvert dipping their toe into this "social media" thing.
I was surprised to find out that it is longer from Asuncion to the Darien Gap than it is from the Darien Gap to Albuquerque. But it is...significantly longer so I guess he's more than halfway there.

Other than Marjorie Greene in her continuing attempts to clean up her reputation...not that I've seen.

Not all, but close enough. American President and Ghosts of Mississippi were fairly well received and while The Bucket List was critically savaged, it did pretty good business. Hard to live up to that first 7 films streak though.

So the equivalent of in-his-prime Brian Griese?

I'd join in on the "it's got to be AI" crowd except...I've seen AI subtitling (or more accurately "voice to text" usage) on live sports broadcasts. It results in feverish gibberish throughout. One mistake sounds like a person didn't understand the "bitter herb" reference and "corrected" it.

I wonder how happy the UM athletic director was when he discovered his new coach who had averaged 8-4 over his first two years (after coming off a natty) was involved in an "inappropriate relationship" with a staff member and thus could be fired for cause. As happy as you discovering Biff Poggi?

About the only thing that could make it better would be to put "Darth" in front of it...

Since you are the "name guy", I feel it is my responsibility to point out to you the name of the interim University of Michigan football coach. I present to you...Biff Poggi

I grew up as a fan of both Gene Hackman and Michael Caine. The number of movies they each appeared in from the '60s through the '90s is...considerable. I only found one film they appeared in together: A Bridge Too Far.

I saw most of Hostel, couldn't finish it. I don't care how many people think The House With a Clock in Its Walls was good, I knew Borderlands was cooked the instant Roth was hired. Would love to see Mazin's original script to see if there was any life there BR (Before Roth).

Darth Scromit?

So a young Ann Coulter?

Considering the eclectic fan base of several films that Dano has appeared in (Little Miss Sunshine/There Will Be Blood/Swiss Army Man/The Batman/Prisoners/12 Years a Slave/etc) the ceiling on the level of support Dano has/will receive is functionally unlimited...

I mean, QT denigrating any persons acting skills after how he's performed in his roles? Wow. The only "actor" whom I disliked more...was the one he put on screen in one of his films in place of himself...Eli Roth.

While I'm not seriously into his earlier stuff (other than Scream), he's always entertaining. I quite dug his appearances on Bosch.

Great price! The controller scheme takes a hot minute to become second nature. I know that's par for the course but it's usually just a little bit more so for Witcher games in general...

The amount of people who think Jefferson Starship was a continuation of Jefferson Airplane is...well, understandable (I thought that for many years). The rights to the "Jefferson" part of the name were controlled by Paul Kantner. All JS had in common with JA was two (later 3) band members.
December 5, 2025 at 5:11 PM
A minor amusing side note to this story is that exactly two days earlier a leading "Snyderbro" website triumphantly posted a story about how James Gunn was "out" at WB/DC because a Paramount exec had recruited Zach Cregger to a DC project against Gunn's wishes due to the impending Paramount takeover

They could be 100% ambiguous about the ending and it would still be infinitely more comprehensible than Tenet.
December 4, 2025 at 11:58 PM
Jefferson Starship was never a continuation of Jefferson Airplane. Hot Tuna was more of a continuation than JS was. And all involved would have told you that. I guess Kantner was the one who came up with the "Jefferson" moniker and Kaukonen and Casady had no issue with him using it for his next band

Ah, the rare un-retouched photo (with cat hair) of the Scalzi household. A reminder to me of one of the big reasons I don't have any cats. Love their personalities but keeping the place clean is beyond my capabilities...

Counterpoint: I was listening to Cheap Trick's first album when I came across a song about Lane Kiffin...IYKYK.

Hard to believe late stage Al Davis was right about anything (soooo many bad draft picks!), but he was spot on about Lane Kiffin.
