I also keep my tone. It's more so the way I say something in person the tone is clear by how I say it. That gets lost in messages, so I take a bit more time and effort to ensure I emphasise the intended tone.

I use AI for proof reading and ask for feedback on tone. Sometimes in writing I come off as too direct. I think people find this off-putting, so I make adjustments to align more with my intention. I am frequently oblivious to this on my first draft. As for constructing a message entirely, no.
