I was one of like four people defending Unfriended as a fun idea, just poorly executed. Host is basically what if Unfriended was great, and that's all it ever needed to be!

Super short pandemic horror that feels pretty real. Give it a go!

4: Bring Her Back

Probably my favourite movie of the year! And not just because it has The Veronicas in it

Australian horror sometimes gets overlooked, but they make some great shit over there. I'm really looking forward to rewatching this soon!

Bleak how that part of the internet is just gone now :/

The apex of 21st century European cinematic extremity. It's just so fucking good. Watching this shit when you're 19 will change your life

Not a movie I would show to the faint of heart, but for everyone else it's probably the best torture porn flick ever

2: Ringu

I go back and forth on whether this is better than The Ring, but they're both just as good. Just in different ways

Another one of the aforementioned sad little mood pieces, I love the bleakness. Definitely worth watching if you've only seen the American version

A really cool wee jhorror flick I watched this year! Came out around the big jhorror boom, and it's one of the better examples, I think
