I always hate the round robin sports that end in a 4 team medal round where one of those teams aren't getting go home no better than any of them other schlubs that didn't make it out of the round robin. At least get those folks a Honorable Mention medal or something.

Bring back the black metal pans, the plastic red cups, and the faux stained glass chandeliers, and the little league pizza parties will return.
As a Braves fan, my favorite is Rafael Belliard. Just using a roster spot on him, year after year, on the great teams of the 90's. Played in the majors for 17 years, 9 of which below replacement level. Finished with a career of -1.2 fWAR. Good work if you can get it.

Never understood the additional game. The extra week for TV was the bigger driver, money-wise, so just add another bye. You give players more rest during the year (and a "give" from the owners in labor talks") plus versatility to mostly eliminate short week games, and thus better played. All wins.

Information has value. The earlier you know the result of the 2 pt try, the better because you adjust your strategy based on that (for instance, kicking off vs onsides). It only makes sense to not go for 2 early if you can prove that converting after the 2nd TD has better odds which you can't.

When I asked my kids what it meant, they attempted to explain, but when I didn't understand, they said "Didn't you have something stupid that you said all the time as a kid?" It was then that I realized "6-7" is better than "Deez Nutz".
