Yesterday, @mccompans.bsky.social presented on 'Miscarriage prevalence and factors: a multi-source approach in France', discussing the +/- of using surveys, administrative, and qualitative data to study #miscarriage. Triangulation is key and the right data source depends on research questions

The SOC-MISC team is currently attending the @eshre.bsky.social annual conference in Paris. We were able to present some of our research (see thread 🧵👇) and learn a lot from others. We commend the organisers for an interesting and thought provoking event!

📈 Interesting trend: Younger cohorts reported more miscarriages - perhaps because stigma is decreasing and they're more open about their experiences, because of improvement in early pregnancy detection, or generational differences in recall accuracy

💡 Key finding: Miscarriage affects estimated 14% of pregnancies. While advanced maternal age increased the risk, education level and financial status did not significantly impact the likelihood of miscarriage
