I have both which is allowed. We could renounce our US citizenship but can’t at the moment because we are employed in the US and my husband is a cancer researcher with NIH funding and an important cancer therapy in development. He can’t move that all to Canada.

As a Canadian having moved here under the Bush administration, not great but not terribly horrible either, I obtained US citizenship under Obama's administration. In fact, we did this because we really wanted to vote for him in his second election. But now, this country makes me feel sick.
