Natascha Morris

After a childhood spent reading, Natascha Morris knew she would be a certifiable “Publishing Nerd”. She joined The Tobias Agency in 2020 after previously working at BookEnds Literary and Simon & Schuster. Her editorial philosophy stems from the idea that all books should be well written and entertaining, and that all children should see themselves and their lives in books.

Raissa is no longer on social so it falls on me to tell you that Raissa has a new book!

Kaylan Adair at Candlewick has acquired world rights to Jodie Doesn't Love Dogs by Stephanie Seales (l.) (My Daddy Is a Cowboy), illustrated by Raissa Figueroa, a picture book about a girl who doesn't love dogs but may have a change of heart with the help of her dog-loving best friend's pup. Publication is slated for spring 2027; Reiko Davis at DeFiore and Company represented the author, and Natascha Morris at Tobias Literary Agency represented the illustrator.

I’ve seen more than one picture book dummy recently that was near perfect terms of voice and style but ended up being a pass because it didn’t align with current market trends. Checking the bestseller list each week, noting which titles are face out at the bookstore—these practices can help. #kidlit
