The word "Retribution" is on my mind today.

I am unsure that "retribution" adds to the continuity or improvement of society.

I'm also wondering if the desire for retribution is strongly linked to dishonesty itself or, is it linked to strongly to damage. What are the factors?

Sorry, @neildegrassetyson.com might need to elaborate on his Real Time with Bill Maher remarks. Must is perhaps not a good person; neither was Edison for that matter. Yet, you have to admit he's had an inordinate amount of technological impact.

I'm glad that there is no crying or gloating here. I like being able to see the softer side of humanity. I browse here because you're interesting.

AI today is almost to where I wanted it to be. I used to envision being able to talk the collection of my books and articles. Googles Notebooks can create a Podcast from PDF's and websites that sounds absolutely natural.

A couple days ago the CEO of OpenAI stated that the most current model can reason. Now, my worry is not about Skynet, but it is about the impact when many jobs become essentially obsolete. No current form of economic ideology, in my opinion, can account for change of such magnitude.

The most significant thing to happen for Programmers/Developers is not LLM's. Instead, I would say it is the widespread availability of Language Servers (LSP)'s. If your chosen language does not have a decent LSP by now, then that does not bode well for the longevity of the language.

Imagine being able to write every number, from 0 to 19, in a space the size of a single arabic numeral (0-9) without lifting your instrument from the paper. Here's how, showing us that sometimes, you need a bunch of kids to figure out how to be efficient.

Recently there was a post regarding the misuse of decimated to imply near total destruction; perhaps implying the loss of 9 in 10. This has always bugged me. There is no specific word for 9 of 10. I propose Novimated as because Novim is latin for 9. The population was novimated.

I'm extremely frustrated by Amazon Kindle. The apps are riddled with bugs and short on features. I have 3.5K books, of which 2/3 are academic texts. Reading to learn is my main hobby and Kindle does not make it a pleasant experience.
