My uncle went to Dr Mario multiple times a year with respiratory problems. Prescribed all kinds of pills. Eventually saw an article about how his problems could be caused by rising damp and realised the back of his cistern was leaking into the foundations. So he called a plumber, guess who turns up?

Ended up using icloudpd to sync down our iCloud photos locally nightly, leaving only the last year in iCloud. Using immich to give those local photos a nice interface that's accessible via web / mobile app. Got our storage use down under 2TB and so far so good!

Just went through this! Since the next tier is 8TB (6TB + 2TB included in Apple One Premier) it was going to get extremely expensive (~$85/month in Canada). Already have lots of local storage on my Plex server, so went down a rabbit hole of finding the best way to get our data out of iCloud.

That is so heartbreaking. My husband & I spent our teenage years into adulthood watching Space Ghost together & raised our kids with it. I even made this stuffie for one of my boys. Thank you George for sharing your talents with the world & filling our lives with laughter. ❤️ 🐜
