At the end of 2022, I ended up in this remote archipelago near the North Pole with photographer Federico Ambrosini. There, we discovered a remote city that somehow reflected the changes of what was going on in the rest of the world. My latest story about Longyearbyen on @newlinesmag.bsky.social.
Longyearbyen, home to about 2,500 inhabitants, is located halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole.

Today — more than a quarter of all of its residents are non-Norwegian.
