I say go for it, someone's gotta document the downfall, after all.
January 6, 2026 at 11:06 PM
It's always those same people pointing out the same flaws they stood by before the downfall. x3
Pathetic if you ask me!

Probably for the best, when the community seems hellbent on burning the game to the ground with their toxicity, it's better to just leave it to it's own ashes.
January 6, 2026 at 10:29 PM
Most certainly! Nearly a year of failing to listen to player input, and an absolutely atrocious community of either the worst kind of fps player, or the most obnoxious level of dev apologist out there. I'm one to lend credence and credit to the dev team but even I have limits. 😅
January 6, 2026 at 10:23 PM
Unfortunately and unquestionably so, those who aspire to see what the game could be are oft shot down in favor of the boasting of "skill issue" and "you just don't get it."
January 6, 2026 at 10:08 PM
...and as frustrating as these issues are, they probably won't be fixed.
The devs have already outlined their plans to keep adding more stuff to the game despite the baseline still being pretty unsatisfactory overall. i.e. reimplementing the aforementioned battle royale mode, for funsied i suppose.
January 2, 2026 at 8:32 AM
They had a whole framework and standard that their previous community liked and they discarded it for a battle royale, completely reworked, macro transactions riddled launch, only to then "fix" those issues with bandaid patches like the removal of portal resources without considering balance after.
January 2, 2026 at 8:26 AM
All in all, they really fumbled the bag with this sequel/remake. The way I see it, balance or good design was never the intention.
From rigging major events by paying off big names, to gouging their players for cash only to reduce price and refund currency (but not purchases) after backlash.
January 2, 2026 at 8:24 AM
I feel like this would probably be more upsetting than the portal resource.
The responsiveness of a portal shouldn't be compromised in the name of balance, but the offensiveness should definitely be curbed.
I think it's important to note that any and all testing done was extremely sloppy and brief.
January 2, 2026 at 8:22 AM
Yeah... I didn't really vibe with Destiny PVP either.
Imho they bet too much on turning the game into a generic specialist shooter, and the originality of the concept suffered for it.
It's frustrating to see what was once an interesting and optimistic project be turned into something so standard.
January 2, 2026 at 8:12 AM
I think the fundamental issue is that with Splitgate 2 they cranked the TTK so heavily compared to the original. (at least from when I played the first one)
It's very clear that little thought was put into the portal play when they made this decision, among plenty of others...
It's disheartening.

I'm on my way, make sure to grab the big can of gunpowder too for seasoning!
