I just leaned into it hard, betting on it for the long term. I replaced all of my legacy NativeBase code. Also, I *almost* went with Tamagui and did a shitload of work to convert to it before backing away and choosing GS.

I recommend you pull down their v2 kitchen sink example app: github.com/gluestack/ki...

If you've worked with shadcn and tailwind before on web, it is a very similar workflow and usage. You pull in the components you want into your project, they become part of your source code.

It's a huge difference, v2 is based on NativeWind/Tailwind so it's very easy to compose custom components. It's also more of a "copy/paste" the component and use it model like radix or shad.

No worries! react-native-firebase is working so far for me in a fresh Expo 52 app... cautiously optimistic and pressing forward with my upgrade.

I'm still on a 2021 M1 Pro too... 32GB Ram, 2TB SSD. It's still a workhorse and I have no complaints, but yeah I am tempted to upgrade with the M4!
