Yeah, 7 digit commonly works within the same area code for POTS and cellular, I’ve made it work in VoIP for years for ease of use

This is why a always try to add a rule to the dial plan that prepends a 1 and the local area code when only 7 digits are dialed, had a whole client's office staff screaming for 7 digit dialing ~15 years ago and have been adding it ever since.

There's so many great options out there now and if you don't already have an everdrive, pick one up for each platform you have, I have the GB and old GBA versions and need the N64 version for my HDMI modded 64
