I believe that basing our understanding of "others" solely on knowing their "life story" is a form of #subtle_bias. Where someone comes from and what they have experienced does not necessarily indicate who they "are" in the present or who they "can become" in the future.

The lived experience of the oppressed not only carries the right to speak of injustice but also the right to be heard.
