I don’t know a single coder that isn’t using genAI. Of the last 5 traditional artists I’ve hired all but one openly used gen AI in their process.

Let’s see how long the anti-AI purity tests last when every game studio is using it in some capacity.

It's really weird. I'm so used to it with LLMs and image models now I've just accepted it. In some ways it's actually been getting better over time. Even OpenAI is starting to loosen up a little.

Censoring LLMs always has a “halo effect” that changes non-targeted behaviors. It’s hard to only affect one thing. Nothing is discrete or atomic.

Honestly tbf I feel like this is accidental censorship. Paper textures, cloth, all kids of things couldn’t get through. It’s a mystery what they are even trying to block or why. 🤔

Also, indie games that are cheap, fast, fun, and run on inexpensive (any) hardware will do amazingly.

I suspect that UGC will also rise because people will be in free and social games. And people will make things for each other for fun and profit. Small profits might mean more too. 👇
