I'm doing pricing calculations between Sol-Ark/SolarEdge/Enphase setups for solar+battery for my next video — I'm seeing Enphase actually get CHEAPER than SolarEdge. Am I doing this right?!

Isn't the whole thing with SolarEdge supposed to be that it's Enphase's cheaper and jankier cousin?

A good rule of thumb as a technician is to always internally assume that you don't know what you're talking about, and learn from as many people as you can, all the time.

It's a dangerous thing to break that rule, and you better be damn sure before you show your ass on the internet.

Apple really broke something about Messages+App approval requests for parental controls in iOS26. I've been waiting for it to get better all beta cycle, but the purchase requests both format really strangely in messages now, as well as slow down the app tremendously. Clearly nobody uses it 😂

Disney has not only been relentless in their rate hikes, but the worst company for allowing use of the service in multiple locations, or sharing passwords. If we could share it with family and split the bill, then sure, but nope, they cannot fathom missing a slight bit of revenue.

AI being a bit of a nationwide and semi-bipartisan boogeyman can help us out a lot here. I ain't got no problem with AI and I think the power issue is probably overblown, but we don't know that until it happens. Working on the next gen of power grid in response to a bipartisan bad guy seems good.

It's why nuclear is immediately on the tongues of conservatives. It's the dream of extreme resilience paired with cheap power over time. They cannot see past the fluctuations in solar/wind production. Which is why batteries need to be literally everything, now.

But a focus on better, cheaper technologies aimed at stabilizing the grid? That's something we can campaign on. We just need to figure out how to kill the connection between that and people's straw men against "clean energy". I think it's really about grid resilience, in the end.
