I make YouTube videos about solar troubleshooting and maintenance, and also created The 3741 Reference, a solar product compatibility tracker for UL 3741 compliance (ul3741.com)

Ohhhhh no. Has Enphase's tech support gone to shit? I'm on the phone trying to explain that they didn't send me the right AC adapter with this RMA and they had no idea what I was talking about

I simply do not understand YouTube. I've gotten 20k so far today on Insta from this video, 50k on TikTok. 900 on YouTube, and it's got some of the best engagement ratios compared to my other videos. I cannot break into that damn algorithm to save my life.

Ethanol is ridiculous when used as fuel. We need to stop it.
"Corn ethanol requires millions of acres that could instead be used for food crops or more efficient energy sources. One recent study found that solar panels can generate as much energy as corn ethanol on roughly 3% of the land."
Corn’s clean-energy promise is clashing with its climate footprint
Corn dominates U.S. farmland and fuels the ethanol industry. But the fertilizer it relies on drives emissions and fouls drinking water.

Between the Epstein files bill, Trump deciding he actually likes Mamdani, and MTG resigning, I've decided I'm not doing more internal political analysis for the rest of the year, I'm just gonna enjoy the show

Poll for y'all - what generic electrical calculators or NEC rules do you constantly find yourself looking up? I've got a side project I'm working on, aimed for anyone trying to understand how design works in solar

Clean Energy accounted for all electricity growth this year. Gas/Coal were basically a wash and will be for years to come for electricity generation.

We need to ramp up batteries because they are 90% cheaper than distribution grid upgrades which is the main reason we have rate increases.

Lutnick is the current Secretary of Commerce and Epstein sent this email three months before he died.
Epstein mocked Trump for “leaving his nose print on the glass” while watching young women, wrote that Trump knew about illicit activity tied to Mar-a-Lago, and visited “many times,” and noted Trump’s planned visit to his neighbor Howard Lutnick’s house.

I was hoping someone would do this story. A bit unsatisfying since all these people put on solar about a decade or more ago, but then again, they as wealthy politicians WOULD have had the means for it a decade ago. www.eenews.net/articles/mee...
Meet the Republicans who killed solar subsidies — after using them
POLITICO’s E&E News examined satellite imagery of more than 100 homes owned by Republican lawmakers to see if they have solar panels. Seven had rooftop

My VERY red county in PA, that still voted GOP for other state elections, voted to retain the judges, even as we all got mailers to tell us to vote no on retaining judges.

There are still folks in the Republican Party that don't understand it no longer holds their democratic ideals.

And the fact that he's grasping at this bargaining chip suggests that it's the last one he feels he has
Using hunger as a bargaining chip for political gain is disgusting. The court has ordered the federal government to turn SNAP benefits on - and we’ll hold them to it. It’s time for this Admin to do their jobs.

Early in the tech support call:

Me: "can you tell me what all ports I can check to see if this modem is responsive?"

AlsoEnergy: "just do http and https, see if that works"

*Neither works*

One hour later:
AlsoEnergy: "oh, can you quick try putting a :9443 on the end to see if that works?"

☹️

I am solidly in the camp that says regulation has become FAR too stringent for the nuclear industry, and has needed to be revamped for a long time.

However, this looks like throwing out regulation based on vibes, friendships, and VC funding, which is 100% the wrong direction.
