-probably the absolute worst things you could take. There’s a reason souls games have been moving away from boss runbacks! They suck!

Out of anything you could steal from souls games, the demon’s souls/bloodborne/sekiro systems of “important consumables limited in a way that doesn’t do anything except force you to grind occasional and give you fomo whenever you engage with a central mechanic of the game” and “boss runbacks” are-

Shards are just a way to artificially waste time if you’re stuck against a hard boss
Boss runbacks are just a way to artificially waste time if you’re stuck against a hard boss
I’d love to hear some genuine attempts at defending these mechanics bc from my perspective they’re exclusively bad

I just think boss runbacks and the shard system are unbelievably awful tbh

Like so bad that if the game was otherwise a 10/10 id lower it to like an 8
