And me feeling a bit of shame, is really about me knowing I should alt text every time. I suppose I was thinking about how people can turn away and disengage when they feel ashamed, hence suggesting refraining it ☺️

I wasn't upset by your wanting people to use alt text, I actually agree with you. I was offering you a perspective on how you came across, and suggesting an alternative

I wonder about framing this differently? i.e. "Thanks to the people who post alt text for their images, it means I can share them with people in my vision impaired/disabled community." I guess reading your words I felt a bit like I was being shamed for forgetting sometimes.
