Well the Christmas tree is up.

In other news in "my" world ... I didn't really partake in the holiday sales -- save for one item I found while random browsing as a distraction really. I had some store credit and thought, okay, why not. ETA: next week.

He's so full of 💩

Asked if he’d be comfortable living in New York City under the incoming mayor, the president said: “I really would, especially after the meeting.”

Over the weekend (it was dreary, rainy), I decided to start reading FLESH by David Szalay

I made it 1/3 way through and thought, "Oh, God ... this is bad."

But hey, that's my opinion of course. The story just ... I don't know. Ugh, bad. And how many times can a person say "Okay" or "Yeah"? 🤔

Halfway through Mitch Albom's novel: TWICE

I'm tired and a little under the weather, as they say, but if I could I would read the rest all night.

I'm sure he's a very talented writer (clearly due to his previous bestsellers alone) and maybe I'm jumping into the John Grisham "pool" a little late but ... I tried to read The Widow and you know what? I just couldn't get into it. Something about the writing or story? Both? Not sure.

What would you wish for if a single lantern could carry your heart's desire skyward? Tonight, in northern Thailand, the Yi Peng festival offers that chance. This centuries-old Lanna tradition celebrates the 12th lunar month with glowing paper lanterns—khom loi—that are released to honor the Buddha.
