The servants aren’t usually main characters, although this isn’t true of 19th century Russian novels.

Usually in older texts it’s the servants who exist in the text without being introduced. In Jane Austen it could be a central character.

Once there was a massive line to for free tickets to see the Dalai Lama and as soon as I joined very end, a couple came and gave me their spare ticket. It was like a Buddhist gesture.

I remember as a kid there was an episode where Clinger is going to be discharged because he’s gay and he’s like I’m not gay I’m insane that’s why I wear a dress. And I think he stays in the army because they kept him around.

I don’t think it will ever catch on because someone old enough to fit in the category would find it patronising.

This is something you do when you’re dunking on someone but there’s less dunking in general here. This may have downside if nobody ever challenges each other but at present I think it makes for a better experience.

I have unfinished books by F Scott Fitzgerald and Henry James. Being unfinished isn’t necessarily a barrier to publication. It’s interesting reading a fragment. I think this is better than someone else completing it.

They give a definition of disability as lasting more than 6 months and affecting everyday activities (without defining). My cPTSD and Bipolar are both chronic conditions which I have to manage everyday. It’s tricky arguing you’re capable enough to do a job but you are disabled enough to qualify.

What I am looking for in their feedback is whether they base their decision on the interview or whether it is all information contained in my selection criteria and CV. If it’s the latter then the only effect of the scheme is to waste disabled applicants’ time.

I mean there were but they were filled with hazards. Dogs and creepy crawlies and wasps.

I have an ancestor who was a Scottish mole catcher. I could always fall back on the family trade.
