Orks are fun, I think the sisters are rad as hell, there's a garrillion ways to do space marines. Do some thinking and see what you like the most. The love of your army is going to get you through the difficult parts. Good luck!

Well then the first step is completed it sounds like! Chaos has a lot of baubles so they're kind of a pain to paint in my opinion. Thousand sons box has been rough. I liked painting my sisters way more.

I recommend a kill team just to kinda get your feet wet, then once you feel comfortable gluing and painting that, you may have more context of what you might be interested in. It's cheaper and not as much of a time sink.
If that isnt appealing a combat patrol is always a good place to start.
