12D: As this is the New York Times, I had to think of which US coin was a [Coin with 12 stars on it], but none of the crosses fit. Turns out, it was a coin outside of the US: a EURO.

4D: Really clever cluing! A [Right-leaning type] isn’t referring to a person’s political stance. They mean type as in typographically! ITALICS are typefaces that are right-leaning. This one was fun.

I had a bit of trouble with the left and lower-left side of the board. I got POPE MOBILE right away, but it took a while for me to get JOGS/JIMI, I GOT A WOMAN (which is a song I wasn’t familiar with), and the rest of the board. I didn’t know what IPO or KENO was.
