Also probably more doable in the case of a mixed dem-rep government. Can be a technocratic fix passed through secret congress

Also means no real way back, there’s no way to generate the good will and trust to get Israel to agree to a one state. They can’t (fairly) trust others to actually come to their defence if things do go bad.

I think the plan is Christmas,

Speed of light for response time (apparently some I’ll use cases this is important)

Would you believe that this is covered by the Geneva convention (most of the time no but sometimes yes).

Suspect the costs and the fact that you have to do them for all stations is the issue (you need cameras and platform doors, even for the small low use stations). Weirdly means driverless busses are probably gonna be more common I suspect

Gonna be the biggest ‘Ah well nevertheless’, potentially with a lot of not Trump people hit.

Like of being a mum? Or dad joke but female coded?

I know one recent rpg (Bethesda?) game was looking at using a plague for this and then Covid happened so out the door that idea went.

Probably impossible to untangle in practice and competing too hard with organise group activities apps like meetup

On those lines I remember reading a proposal to reform police along military lines of soldier vs officer. So beat cops are just in the job whereas the detectives and leaders are on a career track. Main benefit was to socially isolate the two a bit (plus officers would be expected to move around)

Upon rumours he has a Nazi tattoo Jacobin has deployed their newsroom in the field for some SNl comedy routines

Seeing dispatch doing weekly episode releases, wonder if that might point to a different model for at least that style of tell-talish games. Where you buy seasons like a tv show etc

If anything it’s gotten even worse as the number of games being produced has just gone up by a magnitude or two

See every discussion about if blowing up the Death Star is a war crime. Geneva convention is very clear that’s okay. But my biggest annoyance on this was in a mid sci fi where the villain used human shields but firing on them was considered the war crime

Unfortunately from an industry standpoint this is probably the correct move as it makes them more ‘accessible’ for a wider market. Probably the area where the games aren’t art crowd had the strongest argument. Hopefully this can improve with the rise of AA games that can compete with AAA

Honestly good odds this is somehow actually good and competently made.

Turns out they’re very niche, having used some mid grade ones (80K AUD) for a board game prototype you quickly learn the downsides. (Very slow, limited precision). Lots of upside but the former is just huge.

I think the end is more like you don’t own a car, you just hire a robo taxi everywhere

Interesting part of Hulls ‘absolute destruction’ is contrasting the between British and German institutions reaction to this. Where the British were able to limit it a lot more due to parliament/democracies input

Given the power outputs I wonder if you’d be able could do some massive ‘weather’ control/climate stuff. Thinking city level AC for the gulf, or city level heating for Alaska.
September 9, 2025 at 1:39 AM
That’s just warhammer having the general sci fi problem of the scale being absolutely wonky (tbf it unironically has this a lot less than is standard)
September 3, 2025 at 4:28 AM
Problem from my understanding is that doing this in any durable way (Important if it’s to actually work and not just fuck things up again) is it requires an actual bipartisan compromise. And that seems more impossible than when the last four presidents tried
August 28, 2025 at 12:18 AM
So it’s probably down to if Trump can stare down the bond market right? Wouldn’t be surprised if he can this time due to the market having adapted in the last few months but will see

They are also folded into the US security architecture and do military actions alongside (such as Afghanistan). Is your suggestion the US guarantee Israeli security (so presumably if 10/7 happens again it’s US marines invading Gaza)?
